Horse Sense Red Level  - Unmounted Topics: 

• Know and discuss safety rules in barn, pasture, and arena

• describe safe riding attire; demonstrate hot to correctly fit a helmet

• Catch horse in pasture, with safe technique

• Demonstrate safe leading from near side (walk, halt, and turn)

• Tie horse safely, using an effective quick-release knot

• Demonstrate basic grooming to prepare a horse for a ride

• Know names and functions of basic grooming tools

• Demonstrate picking out hooves safely, with knowledge of reasons for basic hoof care

• Know basic parts of horse

• Know basic parts of saddle and bridle

• Know basic rules for feeding

• Natural Horsemanship ground skills with horses

Participants will receive a certificate once all skills are met and have a chance to move on to the next level of horsemanship lessons. 

*Weather permitting there will be chances to ride. 

**Cancelation policy in programs and services. This will have the option of a zoom lesson in the event that road conditions are considered not safe to travel.
